The meeting at PUC’s Toul Kork Campus focused on fostering partnerships in student and faculty exchanges, study visits, joint research and publications, and dual-degree programs. These initiatives aim to enhance academic cooperation and provide greater opportunities for students and faculty members to engage in global learning experiences. The PUC delegation, led by Dr. Sam-Ang Sam, Chancellor, included key university representatives such as Dr. Meak Chantheng, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Kol Veasna, Executive Director, Department of Academic Affairs, Mr. Sann Kimchann, Administrative Director, the Faculty of Business and Economics, Mr. Ho Kimsoung, Director of International Relations. It was the second visit of delegates from SWUPL to Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) after their arrival in 2016 to sign the agreement with the Faculty of Business. This visit was not different from the previous one. The delegates wished to extend the collaboration. This year they are turning their interest to the Faculty of Law.

Chairman of the Council, Prof. Fan Wei said that SWUPL would offer scholarships to PUC law students who have been studying in the second year. The students will be trained in Chinese before leaving for China for their two years undergraduate diploma.

In reply, Mr. Long Kimheng Vice President, International Relations and IT & Database Management, sincerely thanked the SWUPL delegates for their visit and offer. “I hope the agreement will also be done with other PUC faculties,” said Mr. Long Kimheng.

The details of the agreement will be made and signed after they have been ratified.

On March 19, 2018, representatives of BINUS University visited PUC to explore collaboration between the two institutes. PUC Chancellor, Dr. Sam Ang Sam welcomed the arrival of the delegates. Then, he briefly talked about PUC’s background and its progress.

Ms. Rokoyah Andariani Amin was surprised to know that PUC has similar courses to BINUS such as character building, critical thinking, business ethics, and international social science relations. “There are a few Cambodian students in BINUS. We wish to have more and PUC is our point of selection,” reported by Ms. Rokoyah.

After an hour discussion, the delegates decided to offer two scholarships to PUC students whose fulfill the requirement of a GPA which is 2.75 up with supporting documents including English proficiency or a statement proving that they have good communicative English with references. An official high school degree will be submitted later.

BINUS’s new semester begins in September to early February and Mid-February to July. Successful candidates will be granted tuition fee, visa, accommodation, and medical insurance.

In addition, undergraduate students who are willing to explore the outside world can take either a 3-day academic tour or a one to two semester exchange with an internship. There are more activities which the two parties wish to do together. The detail will be written in the Memorandum of Understanding and signed at the next meeting.

Delegates from Ritsumeikan University visited Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC) to extend the collaboration between the two institutions.

After the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific and Ritsumeikan University with PUC, there have been two visits by delegateson March 1, 2017, and on October 27, 2017. To proceed with the agreement, Ritsumeikan will begin to send their students with the assistance of its affiliate, PUC.

The exchange students’ project will last for 1 week. Approximately 30 Japanese students from various backgrounds and undergraduate levels will be exposed to Cambodian culture, research activities, and a field trip.

Dr. Sam, PUC Chancellor, appreciated the exchange of students’ ideas and he warmly welcomed the arrival of the students in the near future. “Beyond self, students learn to assist others.” Dr. Sam added, “It is a culture of sharing and encouraging community development.”
